SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT AND POLICY
The Hope Hub (THH) is a charitable organisation (CIO) fully committed to safeguarding its staff, volunteers, service users and the vulnerable adults it supports. THH work with adults who are disadvantaged by: homelessness or being at risk of homelessness; mental health illness; addiction; financial hardship; unemployment or other social deprivation. THH aims to reduce social isolation, enable change and improve our service users’ quality of life.
THH aims to provide a safe and caring environment for its service users and any adults at risk at our day services in Camberley, our emergency accommodation services and our outreach services. THH Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policy is one of a comprehensive range of policies that are reviewed and update annually to underpin, safer recruitment, safeguarding training for staff and volunteers and making safeguarding personal for those needing care and support.
Safeguarding training for trustees, staff and volunteers is included within induction programmes so that everyone knows their responsibilities, how to recognise and respond to different types of abuse, neglect, contemporary concerns, allegations or disclosures as well as recording, escalating and sharing information appropriately. The depth and diversity of ongoing training supports the increasingly complex health, care and support needs linked with homelessness and helps to develop an effective culture of safeguarding with local partners.
In safeguarding, as in all aspects of service delivery, THH adopts a person-centred, strength-based, trauma informed approach. It has a clear organisational structure, is accountable to external bodies, such as the Charities Commission, works hard to apply all relevant legislation and develop new local and national initiatives to improve service for vulnerable adults.
