Christmas 2019

The local community has been wonderful this Christmas. Wonderful donations have been received to help make a memorable Christmas time The Hope Hub would like to thank everyone who has helped make this a special time.

Today, Christmas Eve we are ready to welcome our Clients to join us for Christmas Lunch – served from our kitchen at The Hope Hub Building in Camberley. Great big thank you to Waitrose at Bagshot and a very kind lady from Camberley who supplied the turkey.

We are now so pleased to advise that we have been able to ensure a number of our clients will be spending Christmas in local emergency accommodation

We would like to thank everyone who has worked to help us make Christmas something special this year. There are so many of you that have helped us and we can’t mention you all.  BUT THANK YOU.

The SQ Camberley organised a Christmas Giving Tree and the donations flooded in. Thank you to all who selected a tag and donated. The gifts will be distributed over the Christmas period.

The 2nd Frimley (St Peter’s) Scout Group have been collecting items such as shoes, clothing, toiletries, rucksacks, etc. In addition the sections  have been busy creating, with the Beavers creating small Christmas decorations and Christmas cards and the scouts “creating stones of hope”. The stones were donated by Kebur in Farnborough. Paul and Camilla spent some time with the Group talking about homelessness and playing games to reinforce the messages.  Karen from The Hope Hub picked up the donations which will be distributed to our Clients over the coming days.

This is Claire. Claire organised a collection of Greggs vouchers on her social media pages. I think we were all astounded when we heard that she had raised around £1600 worth of vouchers. Claire came into The Hope Hub to present us with our share of the total.  Claire you are amazing. Thank you so much.  The vouchers will be distributed well into the new year.

The generosity of everyone has been fantastic. Thank you everybody but please remember homelessness and poverty is a year long thing not just for Christmas.

Thanks to all at ADP in Chertsey. Their staff giving tree was weighed down with lots of lovely gifts for our Clients.  Thank you for a second year of giving. It is very much appreciated.

Happy Christmas all – Enjoy yourselves and THANK YOU.
