We are currently looking for a Volunteer Cook Assistant to support our Living Well activities on Wednesdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm, starting at the end of September through to December. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment and wants to make a real difference in the lives of others.
Key Tasks

Support the Projects Officer in preparing, teaching and serving nutritious meals.

Help with safe storage, freezing, or distribution of surplus meals.

Assist with setting up and clearing away the teaching, demonstration and cooking areas

Be aware of allergens and dietary requirements, ensuring safe practice.

Undertake basic kitchen hygiene tasks (wiping surfaces, washing up, tidying).

Welcome Service Users in a kind and respectful way, helping to create a positive mealtime experience.

Work alongside the wider Living Well team to support activities where needed.
Requirements

Volunteers must be aged 21 or over.

A positive, reliable, and team-oriented approach.

Willingness to follow food hygiene and health & safety practices (training provided if needed).

Kindness, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude when supporting Service Users.
