Sarah Wesley and the team from Camberley Gardeners graciously hosted an Open Gardens event on the weekend of June 1st and 2nd in the Camberley and Hawley area. During this delightful event, seven generous residents opened their gardens to the public, helping to raise an impressive £2,923.59 for The Hope Hub Charity. The new Mayor of Surrey Heath inaugurated the event at the Park Road garden, setting a vibrant tone for the weekend.
The Hope Hub’s representative, Gemma Gardner, visited five of the gardens over the weekend and remarked, “I was really impressed with all the gardens I saw and blown away by the effort local residents put in on the day. Thank you so much for supporting us and helping to raise funds for our local Charity.”
A heartfelt congratulations goes out to all the remarkable residents who opened their gardens, welcoming visitors and serving delicious teas, cakes, and refreshments. Special thanks are also extended to the members of Camberley Gardeners for their generous donations of plants and flowers, which were sold to raise additional funds for the charity. The community spirit and dedication displayed by everyone involved truly made the event a resounding success.
The Funds raised will be going towards supporting people on the fringes of our community and will go towards providing:
- warms lunches at our Day Services and evening meals at our Emergency Accommodation
- one to one support sessions with our Caseworkers to help encourage empowerment
- one to one sessions with our Employment and Wellbeing Coach to help improve digital skills training, CV writing and employment preparation.
We will also be encouraging our Service Users to learn more about gardening and will be purchasing:
- a small raised herb planter for the thousands of fresh meals we cook each year at the Emergency Accommodation House and our Day Services.
- gardening equipment / maintenance of tools at the Emergency Accommodation House.
We are truly blessed to have a wonderful community, supporting our cause and could not deliver our services without support – THANK YOU from Team Hope Hub!
