The Handbook covers working practices and approaches to volunteer work at The Hope Hub. Both the grey Volunteer Hope Hub Policy folder and copies of the current handbook are available for reference on top of the cupboard by the coats and lockers in the office area. The THH volunteer policy folder is only available to view at The Hope Hub, however you can view the hand book online here; Open Handbook

New to Volunteering? It is very useful to read the handbook first before looking at the current THH policies. All new volunteers are required read them all and sign to acknowledge each policy. There are signing sheets at the front of the folder. Please hand completed, signed and dated, forms to Camilla.

Annual Review: Every volunteer is required to annually sign to confirm they have viewed all the current Hope Hub policies and acknowledge any updates. The annual summer policy audit and review results in policy updates; after printing the updated file is available for review in the Autumn. Please use the same signing sheets and also hand completed, signed and dated, forms to The Day Centre Manager, Camilla.

New Policies:

D51 Suicide Prevention Policy – The Hope Hub (THH) is committed to protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of its staff, volunteers, service users and other connected parties. The Policy is designed to help, support and educate everyone around the risks of suicide, promoting good practice, and encouraging healthy conversation to remove stigma, and provide support. On the back page under 8.0 there is a list of further sources and information if you hear anyone or feel that a colleague, volunteer or service user may be at risk.

As part of our continuous improvement, funders are now asking for a suicide prevention policy because of the vulnerable people THH work with. Please ALWAYS alert your line manager if you see, hear or are concerned for someone’s welfare.  Our role is to do our best and we will report it accordingly as part of our duty of care responsibilities.  (Dec 24/Jan 2025)

If you have any questions please just ask the day services manager or a member of staff.
